
At Sanitas La Zarzuela and La Moraleja University Hospitals, we maintain a close partnership with the Spanish Association Against Cancer and its volunteer network to provide essential support to those facing this challenging illness.

Our agreement with the Spanish Society for Healthcare Quality is aimed at promoting excellence in healthcare and continuous improvement in key areas such as patient safety, quality of care, and clinical risk management. This alliance reflects our commitment to innovation and the adoption of best practices across the healthcare sector.

Backed by the Madrid Diabetes Association, Sanitas La Zarzuela, La Moraleja and Virgen del Mar hospitals offer an innovative diagnostic support programme. This initiative enhances our endocrinology services and strengthens our commitment to advancing diabetes prevention, treatment, and comprehensive management.

Sanitas Hospitales and the Spanish Society of Anaesthesiology work together to promote the anaesthesiology specialty. In addition, the agreement facilitates the recruitment of professionals and the exchange of best practices in patient safety across the national healthcare system.

Through a collaboration with Universidad Europea de Madrid, the Official College of Pharmacists of Madrid, Madrid Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, and Fundación Real Madrid, we care for about twenty patients of the Madrid Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. They receive specialised treatment from postgraduate physiotherapy students at Universidad Europea, who, under the supervision of Sanitas professionals, offer weekly sessions at our health centres free of charge.

In 2022, we began a partnership with the Autism Spain Confederation to improve healthcare for individuals with autism. This alliance enhances training and specialisation among our professionals, and promotes best practices to eliminate barriers to care and ensure more inclusive, accessible, and tailored services.

We have partnered with the Spanish Society of Hematology and Hemotherapy to create, develop, and maintain Guía Hemodent, an AI-based tool for the better management of anticoagulated patients in dental clinics.

Raíces y Brotes is a biodiversity education programme, which provides training on health and sustainability to schools. The initiative also supports the reforestation projects run by the Institute in Senegal.

Sanitas has partnered with the Norman Foster Foundation to promote healthier, more sustainable urban environments, with a strong focus on architecture and urban design. The goal is to transform cities through innovative solutions that integrate well-being, sustainability, and quality of life into future urban development.

Through the Sanitas Chair for Health and the Environment, this collaboration fosters research and knowledge dissemination to improve the health of people and the planet. It promotes multidisciplinary, applied research and social awareness based on the One Health approach supported by WHO, exploring the connections between human, animal, and environmental health. The aim is to provide evidence and recommendations to help transform our environments into healthier living spaces.

Our partnership with UPM, through the Fundación Sanitas Chair, is dedicated to researching inclusive sports practices and training physical education teachers and students. The goal is to promote inclusive sport for people with and without disabilities.

Collaboration focused on promoting healthy lifestyle habits through the Healthy Cities programme, as well as developing research aimed at generating scientific evidence on the environmental impact on people’s health, in partnership with the Spanish Heart Foundation.
